Choose seven seeds from all 32 NFL teams

Open the team editor and choose seven AFC teams and seven NFC teams from the conference selectors. Each conference includes all sixteen clubs, and a club already selected in another seed is disabled to prevent duplicates. This is a manual playoff field selection, not a simulation of remaining regular-season fixtures. Use official division and wild-card qualification rules to assign the seeds. The predictor then calculates divisional reseeding from your Wild Card picks.

How the NFL playoff bracket works

The NFL playoff field contains 14 teams: seven in the AFC and seven in the NFC. Each conference has four division winners and three wild-card entrants. The conference 1 seed receives a first-round bye. The other six teams play Wild Card matchups of 2 versus 7, 3 versus 6, and 4 versus 5. Conference membership matters throughout the postseason because AFC and NFC teams cannot meet until the Super Bowl. This NFL bracket maker keeps those groups separate and uses seed numbers to calculate the next round after your selections.

Why the divisional round must reseed

After all three Wild Card games in one conference are picked, the 1 seed faces the lowest remaining seed, meaning the survivor with the largest seed number. The other two survivors play each other. For example, if seeds 2, 6, and 5 advance, seed 1 faces seed 6 while seeds 2 and 5 meet. A fixed line from an opening game to a divisional slot would be misleading. Changing any Wild Card selection therefore recalculates the conference matchups and clears later picks that depended on different opponents. Finish the conference opening round to reveal its divisional games.

Conference championships and the Super Bowl

Two divisional winners meet in each conference championship. The AFC champion and NFC champion then meet in the Super Bowl. An original seed remains attached to a team as it progresses; a lower seed winning does not become the new 1 seed. This distinction makes a printable NFL playoff bracket different from a standard basketball bracket. The NBA and March Madness use fixed paths, so their surviving teams stay on predetermined lines. Use a sport-specific tool when comparing predictions across seasons. This page avoids hardcoded game dates, which should always be checked against the official league schedule.

Use the NFL playoff predictor step by step

Open the team editor and enter the seven announced seeds for each conference. Names are editable labels rather than a standings feed. Click a team in every available Wild Card matchup, then choose divisional winners, conference champions, and the Super Bowl winner. You can experiment with an upset by changing an earlier choice. Later affected games clear rather than silently retaining a team on the wrong path. Randomize picks fills a possible complete outcome for discussion. It does not evaluate injuries, betting lines, or team strength, and should not be treated as a forecast model.

Run a playoff pool with friends

Use the group pool button to open a single elimination event with capacity for 14 participants and an NFL playoff pool name. A Brackify live bracket does not automatically reseed, so this widget handles your NFL reseeding scenarios while the pool tracks predictions configured in the live event. Names and individual picks do not carry into the wizard. Explain the scoring rules and entry deadline to your group before kickoff. Keep a text copy of each submitted prediction and decide how to handle ties. A share link is useful for distributing a snapshot, but it is not a locked submission system.

Print and share your Super Bowl bracket

The print action removes the surrounding page controls and presents the bracket for paper use. Print a blank version with seed placeholders, or enter names and complete your picks first. Because divisional opponents depend on the Wild Card results, an unpicked printout naturally contains awaiting-winner slots. A copied share link includes the names and selections needed to restore your exact snapshot. Another person can change that copy without changing your original. Device storage retains work when it is available, while blocked storage still allows the tool to function. Save a link before clearing browser data.

Adapt the tool for a Madden tournament

For a Madden event, replace the NFL seed placeholders with player names or handles and divide entrants into two groups of seven. Make sure players understand the first-round bye and the reseeding rule. Set game length, roster restrictions, overtime settings, and disconnect rules before collecting entries. If you prefer a fixed draw, use a normal single elimination template instead and describe that choice clearly. The local predictor is useful for planning and paper tracking. For a live Brackify event, manually account for any reseeding because the standard live bracket keeps its original progression. Link the event rules wherever you share the bracket.

Frequently asked questions

How many teams make the NFL playoffs?

Fourteen teams qualify, with seven from each conference. The 1 seed in each conference receives a bye. Six Wild Card games start the postseason, and 13 total games determine the Super Bowl champion.

Who does the 1 seed play in the divisional round?

The 1 seed faces the surviving Wild Card team with the largest original seed number. Complete all three opening picks in that conference and the widget calculates the correct matchup automatically.

Does changing a pick update the NFL bracket?

Yes. A changed Wild Card winner can change both divisional pairings. Dependent selections clear when the opponents change, so you must pick those games again before advancing to the Super Bowl.

Can I make a printable NFL playoff bracket?

Yes. Use Print bracket after entering the names and any picks you want on paper. The print view hides editing controls. Use your browser preview to choose paper orientation and scaling.

Is this connected to live NFL results?

No. Team labels and winners are entered by you. The page does not fetch standings or official scores. Consult NFL sources for the seeded field, kickoff times, and actual results.

Does the pool wizard support NFL reseeding?

The standard live Brackify bracket does not automatically reseed. The predictor on this page handles reseeding. The wizard receives a single elimination format and 14-participant capacity, with names and picks entered separately.
