2026 FGC Local Scene Report
Brackify indexes thousands of fighting game events every week from major tournament calendars. This report summarizes what the FGC is actually running right now — not survey data, but real upcoming brackets and locals.
Reading the local scene
The local scene report compares the kinds of tournaments listed in the current calendar window. Offline and online totals answer different questions: a venue listing helps you plan a trip, while an online bracket may be accessible from another region. Check registration rules and time zones before counting an online event as an option. A single organizer can run several games at one gathering, so listing volume should not be read as a count of independent communities or unique players. Use the game and location breakdowns together to find a scene you can actually attend.
Calendar window and sources
These reports use Brackify’s cached community tournament calendar and the next seven days of listings. The interactive tables load the current totals when you open the page and show the data window and refresh time when available. Counts change as events are added, rescheduled, or removed. If live data cannot load, no current ranking or numeric total is implied by the explanatory text. Follow the tournament finder to review individual listings and their source links.
Limits of this report
A tournament listing is not an attendance measurement. Registration totals, unique competitors, venue capacity, and actual turnout are different measures and are not inferred from calendar counts. Source coverage can vary by region and organizer. Missing listings do not prove that a community is inactive. Compare snapshots only when their time windows, game filters, and source coverage are equivalent, and verify an event with its organizer before relying on travel or registration details.
Using and citing the results
When sharing a table, include the report URL, the date window displayed above the live data, and Brackify as the calendar source. Explain that the figures describe scheduled listings rather than every tournament in the fighting game community. Organizers can use the finder to check nearby dates before scheduling a bracket, while players can filter by game and location to find an event that suits them. For corrections or research questions, use the contact page and identify the affected listing.
