Frequently asked questions
How does Brackify find FGC tournaments near me?
Brackify uses your browser location (with your permission) to search FGC event data and surface upcoming tournaments sorted by distance. Events are aggregated from community sources and updated regularly. Open the full calendar in the app to filter by game, date range, or event size.
Which fighting games are covered?
Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Guilty Gear: Strive, Mortal Kombat 1, King of Fighters XV, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and other FGC titles listed by community organizers on Brackify.
Is the FGC tournament finder free to use?
Yes. Browsing and discovering events is completely free on web and mobile. Create a free Brackify account to bookmark events and receive notifications. Hosting your own bracket is also free.
How do I find my local FGC scene if there are no events listed?
Join the Discord server for your game of interest and ask in the locals or regional channel. Every major FGC game has an active official Discord with city-level channels. You can also check if your city has a game store that hosts weeklies. If no local exists, starting one with a free Brackify account and a Discord server is simpler than most people expect.
Can I host my own FGC tournament on Brackify?
Yes. Creating a bracket takes under 2 minutes. Choose Double Elimination, set your player count, name the event, and share the public bracket URL to your Discord. The Discord bot automatically posts match calls when rounds begin so you never have to manually message every player between rounds.
What is the difference between FGC locals, regionals, and majors?
Locals are small weekly or monthly events at game stores or community venues, usually 8 to 64 players. Regionals are larger events drawing players from multiple cities or states, typically 64 to 500 entrants with more prize money. Majors are national or international events like EVO, CEO, and Combo Breaker with hundreds to thousands of entrants across multiple games. Most players start at locals before competing at regionals and majors.
What bracket format do FGC tournaments use?
Double elimination is the FGC standard. Every player gets a second chance through the losers bracket before being eliminated, which ensures a single unlucky match does not determine your final placement. From Top 8 onward, matches typically use best-of-5 rather than best-of-3 to reduce variance. Brackify supports double elimination, single elimination, round robin, and Team Battle crew battle formats.
