Frequently asked questions

What bracket format should I use?

For a fast or casual event, use single elimination. For a competitive event with time to spare, use double elimination. For a small group where everyone should play a lot, use round robin. For crews or teams, use Team Battle. This picker walks you to the right answer in four questions.

Single elimination or double elimination?

Single elimination is faster and simpler but punishing, since one loss ends your run. Double elimination roughly doubles the match count but is fairer, since a single upset does not eliminate a strong player. Competitive events almost always choose double elimination when time allows.

When is round robin the right choice?

Round robin shines with small fields, usually 4 to 8 entrants, and when you want everyone to play a meaningful number of matches. Above 8 entrants the match count grows quickly, so most large events use round robin only for group stages that feed an elimination bracket.

What is Team Battle format?

Team Battle is a crew battle format where teams of multiple players face off in sequence. The winner stays in until they lose, then the next teammate enters. The team that eliminates all opposing members wins. It is the standard for club and crew competitions.

Is the bracket format picker free?

Yes, the picker is free and needs no account. When it recommends a format, one button creates that bracket in Brackify so you can run the event live.
