Frequently asked questions
Is Brackify actually a good start.gg alternative for fighting game locals?
Yes, especially for events under 64 entrants. The FGC features TOs actually use day-to-day (double elimination, seeding, Discord bot, Top 8 graphics) are all built into Brackify's free tier. Where start.gg excels is for large majors that need global ranking integration. Brackify doesn't try to replace that use case.
Can I migrate an existing start.gg tournament to Brackify?
There's no direct import tool yet. For ongoing leagues you'd recreate the participants list in Brackify. For new events, starting fresh in Brackify takes under 2 minutes, often faster than locating an old start.gg event and duplicating its settings.
Does Brackify support seeding like start.gg does?
Yes. You can seed participants manually via drag-and-drop or enter them in seeded order during setup. Brackify doesn't pull from a global ranking database, but for local and regional TOs who seed by community knowledge or recent results, manual seeding is all you need.
Is start.gg free? How does Brackify's pricing compare?
Both start.gg and Brackify offer free bracket creation. start.gg charges organizers for premium features like custom registration pages and analytics. Brackify's free tier covers brackets, sharing, and basic analytics. The Pro tier adds Discord/Twitch bots and advanced reporting at a competitive price.
Does Brackify work for esports games beyond the FGC?
Brackify is fully game-agnostic. It works for any esports title: Valorant, League of Legends, Rocket League, CS2, Apex Legends, and more. See our esports tournament software page for format recommendations by game.
