Frequently asked questions
What should a fighting game ruleset include?
A complete ruleset covers the format, set length, grand finals rules, character and counterpick handling, stage or arena rules, the DQ timer, controller and macro policy, pausing rules, coaching policy, and how results are reported and disputes resolved. This generator produces all of that in one paste-ready block.
What is the standard set length for FGC events?
Most events run best of 3 through the bracket and best of 5 for top 8, winners finals, losers finals, and grand finals. Grand finals typically use best of 5 with a bracket reset so the player coming from the losers side must win two full sets to take the title.
How long should the DQ timer be?
Five minutes is the common standard at locals and online events. Larger events with bigger venues sometimes extend it to 10 minutes. A clearly published DQ timer is what keeps a bracket from falling behind schedule.
What is a bracket reset in grand finals?
Because the winners-bracket finalist has not lost a set, the losers-bracket finalist must beat them twice to win the tournament. The first set win resets the bracket to even, and a second deciding set decides the champion.
Is the FGC ruleset generator free?
Yes, completely free with no account needed. Generate the ruleset, copy it, and paste it directly into your Brackify event description so every entrant agrees to the same rules before they play.
