Make a tier list with a clear purpose

A tier list places items into named groups so people can compare a set of choices. In fighting games, that can mean perceived competitive strength, matchup comfort, beginner suitability, or simply favorite characters. State the criterion before ranking. A personal practice list is different from a data-based tournament ranking, and neither becomes official because it is shown in colored rows. Use a title or accompanying note that explains the game version and what the tiers mean. A transparent criterion makes the discussion more useful than an unexplained set of letters.

Load a fighting game roster

Choose a game and load the roster from the public Brackify character catalog. The catalog is maintained through FgcCharacter, so the maker can reuse the same character names as Radar rather than copying an unrelated list into the page. Loaded characters start unranked. Review the roster before placing characters, especially around a new release or announced downloadable content. If the roster request is unavailable, enter custom names instead. The tool does not invent missing characters or treat a failed network request as a completed roster load.

Move tiles with a pointer or keyboard

Drag a tile into a rank row when you prefer a visual arrangement. Each tile also has a rank selector, which provides the same operation without dragging and works on a keyboard or touch screen. The supported groups are S, A, B, C, D, and Unranked. A rank change moves the tile into its new row while retaining its label and any image held in the current tab. Reset ranks returns every item to Unranked, allowing another pass without re-entering the roster.

Use custom labels and image tiles

Paste one label per line for a list that is not covered by a fighting game roster. You can also add PNG, JPG, or WebP images up to five megabytes each, with a maximum of one hundred items in the tool. Uploaded files stay in the current tab instead of being sent to a public image host. The filename becomes the initial tile label, so use a short descriptive filename or prepare your labels before uploading. Only upload images you have permission to use, particularly when you plan to share the exported graphic.

Export a PNG that includes the ranks

The PNG export draws the rank rows, tile labels, and any uploaded images into a standalone graphic. It works well for a community discussion, a practice plan, or a comparison shared in a group chat. Check long labels after export because a compact tile cannot display an unlimited amount of text. A larger list produces a taller image. If export fails, reduce the number or size of uploaded images and try again. Export preserves the current visual ranking, while a later change in the maker creates a different graphic.

Share labels and ranks with a link

The share URL stores the item names and assigned ranks so another visitor can open the same arrangement. Uploaded image data is deliberately not embedded in the link; the images appear in your PNG export and remain local to the original tab. Tell recipients whether they should use the editable name-only link or the complete graphic. A link is a snapshot rather than a shared collaborative document. If someone changes a rank in their browser, it does not overwrite your copy or update a link you sent earlier.

Separate opinion from tournament evidence

This maker is an authoring tool, not a source of measured character strength. Brackify tournament usage pages use a separate collection pipeline and disclose sample sizes, event coverage, and update dates. A popular character can have high usage without being the strongest choice for every player, and a small sample can produce an unstable win rate. If you publish an opinion list, label it as opinion. If you cite tournament data, link the source and include the relevant dates and limitations instead of presenting your custom tiers as a statistical conclusion.

Frequently asked questions

Can I load a Street Fighter or Tekken roster?

Yes. Select a game from the public Brackify roster and load its characters into Unranked. The request must succeed before the load button is available. Custom labels remain available if the catalog cannot be reached.

Can I move items without dragging?

Yes. Every tile has a rank selector that performs the same move as drag and drop. Use it with a keyboard or touch screen, or whenever dragging is inconvenient.

Do uploaded images appear in the share link?

No. Links contain labels and ranks. Uploaded images stay in the current tab and are included in its PNG export. Share the PNG when recipients need the full image-based result.

Is this an official fighting game tier list?

No. The maker records your own ranking criterion. Measured tournament usage is a separate data product with a disclosed sample and method. Label an opinion list clearly and cite any external evidence you use.
